Our Mission

The Delta Resource Educational Association of Mobile (DREAM), Inc. was established as a public nonprofit corporation to receive, invest, and distribute funds to be used for the programs of our sister organization,  Mobile Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and other organizations with similar missions.

History

The establishment of a foundation, DREAM, was the vision of Katryna Lowery (Ellis) Kinn, President of Mobile Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Mrs. Kinn asked Mary P. Powell to lead the charge.  Mrs. Powell led the charge effectively and served as the board’s first president. The establishment of the board was cultivated during Mrs. Powell’s administration.  A new home for Mobile Alumnae Chapter (MAC) community programs relocated to 2056 Dr. MLK, Jr. AV, Mobile, AL.  Beatrice B. Morse served as the second president. The mortgage was retired during Mrs. Morse’s administration, a remarkable five years!  Additionally, DREAM has awarded Mobile Alumnae Chapter over $100,000 via fund development activities and donations from various organization, charities, etc.
